Website Creation Steps

Quick Guide To Your First Step  

This quick guide will help you through you first few steps in creating your website.

The guide is designed for the complete beginner but may be of help to all those starting from scratch. There is a lot of information on this site so we do recommend starting from the begining and reading through all the information thoroughly.

Three Things You Will Need To Start

1. Your Domain Name
2. Your Web Host 
3. Website Creating Software

 

1. Your domain name is your website name and address for example mysite.com. A domain name is fairly easy to purchase and are paid for yearly.

2. Your web host is the company where your website will be stored. All files that you create will be uploaded to your hosting account on the internet. Web hosting can be paid for monthly or yearly.

3. To create your site you will need some type of website building software. Some web hosting packages include web building tools, although they are usually quite basic  you may wish to purchase a more substantial software. Art Of Web Design recommends Dreamweaver for website building.

You can also use word processor software to create your webpages such as Microsoft Word or Open Office which is a free product. To use these you will need to know about HTML coding.
